Frequently asked questions

Some questions have been coming up and we wanted to address some of those concerns up front about what's going on in the life of the church as we adapt to the day-to-day changes related to policies designed to help contain the coronavirus and protect our community.

Lobby Experience

  • Do I need to wear a mask? We are encouraging participants to wear masks to worship services unless they have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing one. Masks will be available at the welcome center entrance if you have forgotten one or would like to pick a disposable one up for service that day.
  • What will the lobby be like? We ask you to treat it as a hallway to access the Sanctuary from the outside. There isn't enough room in the lobby to properly space and talk to people while others are walking through to get to service. A hand sanitizer station is also available in the welcome center.
  • Can I still talk to my friends? Yes! We are excited to connect with each other again, but we ask that you utilize the outside spaces at each entrance or exit for connecting and conversations.
  • Will there be coffee or water available? We will not be providing coffee at the church building right now and the water fountains are blocked off at this time, but please feel free to bring your own coffee or bottle water if you'd like.
  • Will restrooms be available? Yes. All of the restrooms near the Sanctuary are open. Restrooms will be cleaned as needed throughout the morning.
  • Is hand sanitizer available? Yes, hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the lobby.

Sanctuary and Service

  • Do I need to wear a mask? We are encouraging participants to wear masks to worship services unless they have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing one. Masks will be available at the welcome center entrance if you have forgotten one or would like to pick a disposable one up for service that day.
  • Will properly spaced seating be marked in the sanctuary? Yes, we have defined safely-spaced seating areas in the Sanctuary. Areas open for seating are marked with green tape markings.
  • Can I sit with my friends? We ask that families/households sit together. Please only sit with other groups of people from outside of your household if everyone in the group feels comfortable.
  • Will we have congregational singing? Yes, and we encourage you to wear a mask while singing.
  • Will the choir or band be singing? The choir is not singing in services yet. They normally take the summers off so it's not unusual to not have them leading us from the front in these months. We are studying some ways to safely bring the choir into the service as we move into the fall. The worship band will be leading songs from the front and are well over the suggested distances from the congregation.
  • Will there be a prayer team available after services? The prayer team will not be available for personal prayer during the service, but there will be prayers led from the pulpit.
  • How will the offering be collected? Secure offering receptacles have been installed near the sanctuary doors as you enter and exit the space. If you would like to give at service, you can drop your offering in these as you exit the sanctuary. We will not pass offering plates during the service. You can also give online right here.
  • At the end of service, will the doors be crowded as we exit? Thus far it has not created an issue, but we recommend that you wait until your entire row has moved on and continue moving outside as service ends. We ask that you exit to the outside before stopping to talk to people, this will help the dismissal process go quickly.

Children's Ministries

  • Will Kids Ministries be available? During the summer months, we will not have kids ministries during service time; children will sit with their parents in the main service.
  • Will there be anything available for my kids? Our Kids Ministries team has put together activity kits for children that will help kids engage with the service. These bags are available by the welcome center entrance. All of the items in the activity bags and the bags themselves have handled following proper protocols for cleanliness.
  • What about a nursery? The nursery area is closed. The Green Room downstairs will be open with a video feed of the service and will be cleaned/sanitized throughout the morning.
  • I'm concerned that my kids can't sit through the entire service. Is there anywhere I can take them and still be part of the service? We are happy to have your kids in service with us! Our church strives to be a place where the whole family can worship together, and everyone understands that kids sometimes make noise or need to move around. But, if you are concerned, the Green Room in the Kids Space downstairs will have chairs and a video feed and is a generally more casual environment.
  • When do you plan to open Kids' Ministries? We are currently working on a plan to resume in-person options for kids sometime in the fall after the kids have begun back in school.

Online Services/Resources

  • I feel uncomfortable attending in person. Will there still be services online? Yes! Our online services and resources will remain available and largely unchanged. We understand that some people will not feel comfortable attending services in-person until the virus risk is lower, and we are committed to keeping online options available and strong.
  • Will online services be video versions of the live service? Yes! We're currently livestreaming the services over Youtube and you can subscribe to the church Youtube channel here in order to get notified when services go live on Sunday mornings at 8:30am and 11:00am.
